Take another step, see where you end up

When the sun gets low enough, the colors change and the world looks slightly more inviting. Maybe going out today will be refreshing.

Dear John, It was a three years since last time I surrendered my time to do things that don’t involve work. As you know, I have nothing really left except projects that keep me occupied most of the day. It’s no one’s fault, I guess it’s my obsession. I’m not sure why I’m mentioning it. Maybe I just remembered our conversation a while back, you mentioned something about working too hard. Anyway…

Today is different. It might be the impending winter, when it comes it feels like the end of the world for me. The need to put things away, for at least one day seems reasonable.

I started to see things differently. Unlike the usual “straight and to the point”, as you’ve adequately depicted my personality last time we’ve met, what I’ve experienced was more of a liberation, but maybe less dramatic.

I went out this morning and experienced a much different day then usual. Just looking up while walking seems to make a big difference. I still avoided eye contact, as usual.

The cold did not bother me, the sun was low and felt warm. It was only a thirty-minute walk, once I got too far, when the place looked unfamiliar, I hassled back home. It felt great being out again.

Hope you’re doing well. I promise I’ll write again soon, keep you up to date on my progress.
